Baggage

Check-in/Boarding
Check-in with Northern Air at demarcated Northern Air check-in desks:
  • You must present yourself 90 Mins before departure
  • Check-in desk closes 30 mins before departure

Baggage Allowances 
All Northern Air Passengers are entitled to 33.069lbs (15kg) per person.

Northern Air will guarantee to carry 15kg per person( 1 piece) as Check-In Bags. There will be a charge of $10.00 per kg in excess depending on the destinations. Passages travelling in groups may share their allowance-maximum weight for any luggage items is 15kg    ( 1 piece only), any weight over this will be shared by the travelling group. Infant and children between the ages of three to six years old will need to be accompanied with an Adult. Infant is under the age of two. Unaccompanied minors may travel aged between 7 years to 12 years. 

Excess baggage
Excess baggage charges apply when a traveler's checked-in baggage exceeds the entitled allowance of 33.069 lbs or 15kg per person.

Note: Rates are for one way cartage only. All rates are VAT inclusive.

Bulky items
Northern Air charges FJD$150 per item for bulky items such as surf boards, golf clubs, etc This fee is in addition to any excess baggage fees that may apply 

Unacceptable Items as Checked Baggage
Northern Air advises that certain items should not be included in your checked in baggage as Northern Air will not be liable for their damage or loss unless the items are identified and Northern Air has in writing accepted them for carriage:
  • Cash or other valuable documents 
  • Jewellery, precious metals 
  • Any item of a fragile or brittle nature, e.g. glassware 
  • Electronics, e.g. computers, cameras, personal electronic devices 
  • Live Animals
  • Personal medication
